BEACH/FOGO: BESTFLY OPERATES TWO DAILY FLIGHTS FROM TODAY

The airline that operates connections between the islands has increased the number of Praia/São Filipe/Praia connections to two, starting today and until May 4th, to respond to demand during the festive period.

Before, the company made a daily connection between Praia and São Filipe, but, as of today, and taking into account the demands for the period of the Flag and Municipality Day of São Filipe, it increased the number of connections to two which, according to information collected from some travel agencies, are sold out.

Almost all agencies have lists of people who want to buy a ticket to travel to Fogo Island during the festive period and are therefore waiting for more flights to be introduced in order to respond to demands, especially from emigrants, who usually take advantage of this period of the year to return to the island.

At the end of the week, many people arrived at the island of Fogo by sea, with at least three trips on one of the passenger and cargo ships, but from the 20th, according to information provided by the agencies contacted, the ship Liberdadi will be available to ensure the maritime connection between the islands of Fogo and Santiago, thus transporting people interested in traveling to the island for the festivities.

With regard to this year's edition of the Flag and Day of the Municipality of São Filipe festivities, the start takes place earlier, on April 22, with activity on the beach of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação and which the organizers classify as "pre-heating" .

Dozens of artists and groups that will perform between April 27th and May 1st have already been announced, tickets sold in batches, but many people are waiting for the program to be announced with the date of the artists' performance to purchase their tickets.
