The decision, eagerly awaited by the project team and beneficiaries, was made official through the organization's recognition as a legal person of public utility. This status was granted under the terms of Decree-Law no. 59/2005, of September 19, which defines the general legal regime for legal persons of public utility, and its subsequent amendments, namely by Law no. 16/X/2022, of December 30, in conjunction with Order no. 41/2022, of December 13.

Public Utility Status is a highly important seal of approval, which gives the organization official recognition for the relevance and positive social impact of its activities. This classification not only values the work carried out, but also opens doors to new support mechanisms, tax exemptions and greater credibility with national and international partners.

The project's mentor, Zé Luís, expressed his deep gratitude and satisfaction at the recognition, making a point of thanking everyone who contributed to this achievement: "Thank you very much to everyone who helped us achieve this Public Utility status. Thank you and much gratitude."

In particular, thanks were extended to the Government of Cape Verde: "Thank you Government of Cape Verde for recognizing our Work in the areas of health, Education, Housing and Food during these 5 years and 5 months of Mission. Thank you."

The Zé Luís Solidarity Project has stood out for its multi-sector intervention, focused on the basic and urgent needs of Cape Verdean communities. Its solidarity action has been visible in the areas of health, particularly in supporting medical treatment, the purchase of medicines and hospital supplies.

In education, the project has distributed school supplies and supported children and young people to ensure they have access to education.

In housing, it has contributed to improving the living conditions of families living in extreme poverty.

Food, with an emphasis on the regular distribution of food baskets and food support to thousands of people.

Gaining Public Utility Status enshrines the transparency and impact of the Zé Luís Solidarity Project's operations, reinforcing its commitment to civil society and its ability to be an essential partner in Cape Verde's social development and anti-poverty policies. This recognition is an incentive for the association to continue expanding its work and reaching even more families in need across the archipelago.
