PR willing to enhance relations of collaboration and harmony between Constitutional Bodies
The President of the Republic launched today, during the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, a vehement appeal to all sovereign bodies, for “the importance of the permanent reaffirmation, in our institutional practice, of the values and principles democratic”. José Maria Neves assures that “the Presidency of the Republic will continue, within the powers and obligations that the Constitution incumbent upon, to do everything to enhance relations of collaboration and harmony between the constitutional bodies on which the proper functioning of our democracy depends”.

The Head of State, who was speaking about the delay in appointing External Bodies to Parliament, including the CSMJ, asked that conduct be avoided that weaken those values and principles or weaken the institutions, recalling that Cape Verde needs more strong, capable of ensuring the defense and preservation of its essential values.
“The inaction in the appointment of the other members of the Council, not being an impediment to the functioning of this body, may constrain the full and regular fulfillment of the functions entrusted to it, hinder its inclusion in the architecture of the social and political environment in which it is integrated and will represent , always, the lack of respect for their organizational and action autonomy”, he said.
José Maria Neves, on the other hand, considered it important that there be concrete and tangible improvements in the justice system, for a better image before citizens and companies and better functioning of the sector. All with a view to the desired justice, “fair, effective, swift, complete and transparent”.
To the sworn in, the Head of State wished the greatest successes in the position, whose nomination deserved the unanimity of his peers, guaranteeing that he will have a PR attentive to the justice sector and the judiciary and available to continue to participate in the construction of the sector.
