According to the results of the tabulation released by the organization, Riba D'Ora also won the award for best song, reinforcing their prominent position in this edition of King Momo's festival.
In second place was the group Renascer, who also received the award for best King and Queen.
In statements to Inforpress, the leader of the Riba D'Ora group, Elton Barbosa, stressed that the victory was expected, given the work done over several months of preparation.
"The moment was long overdue because we worked for months to achieve this goal. I'm very happy. This is the third time we've taken part and this year we're two-time champions," he said, thanking all the members and supporters of the group.
"The victory is the group's, we worked hard for it," he added.
However, he criticized the jury's decision regarding the awarding of some prizes, expressing his displeasure regarding the choice of the best King and Queen, considering that they were wrongly awarded.
For her part, the leader of the Renascer group refused to make any statements to the press.
The public gave a positive rating to this year's King Momo party, but felt that Carnival would be more competitive if there were more groups competing for the title.
