Until when will we accept this cycle of promises and forgetfulness - Gilda da Luz

I don't write out of anger. I write out of indignation. An age-old indignation, but one that is renewed with every political cycle, every year, every month, every day, every party, every promise that turns out to be nothing more than paper.

Until when will we accept this cycle of promises and forgetfulness - Gilda da Luz
Until when will we accept this cycle of promises and forgetfulness - Gilda da Luz
My word is not against those who govern today - because we already know what they do, one comes in another and all they do is promise, respond with well-crafted speeches, shelved projects, reports and justifications. What they lack are arguments and those who defend them.
It's action. It's real will.
It's true accountability.
So my questions are for the people of Brava. For those who live there. For those who say they love the island. For those who have abandoned it emotionally, even though they are physically present.
For the YOUNG people of Brava:
1- How long will you continue to accept boredom as a routine and alcohol as a distraction?
2-Will you wait for someone from outside to build your future for you?
3- Why don't you show up, complain or protest - really?
4- Are you going to keep quiet just because a relative of yours works or holds office or fears reprisals?
For ADULTS:
1- Are you really satisfied with the little you have or have you simply got used to the minimum?
2-Will you continue to hide your indignation behind loyalty for a "jersey that isn't even your number"?
3- And when the powers change - what changes in your life?
4- Is your silence protection or giving up?
For the ELDERLY:
1- What inheritance do you want to leave?
2- Does today's silence guarantee dignity for your grandchildren tomorrow?
3- What memory do you want Brava to have of you?
For EMIGRANTS:
1- Do you just want to come and celebrate and leave?
And during the year? And outside of São João?
2- Are you proud to invest IN party time and regret it?
3- Do you want an island to visit or an island with a future?
For ALL OF US
1- Until when will we accept this cycle of promises and forgetfulness?
2- Are we going to continue to call this lack of transportation, investment and opportunities "normal"
?
3- Isn't it time to stop pointing the finger at the government - and start looking inwards?
Brava won't change with speeches. It will change with presence. With unity. With an active voice. It's not about politics. It's about dignity.
