Covets Association concludes IX castration and deworming campaign for the island's canine population

Veterinarian Lara Baptista was pleased with the turnout for the canine population's castration and deworming campaign and reported that more than 250 animals had been seen and more than 100 castrations carried out.

In statements to the media, Lara Baptista made a positive assessment of this action that took place over seven days and assured that it was very well, since people already know the team and also trust the group.
In this sense, he also stressed that it is very good to find the same animals and realize that people trust the team, however, he assured that many animals were already neutered, and only returned to the appointments for treatment, or that they are sick.
"We are always treated very well on these trips to the island. We always work in partnership with the local team, namely the City Council, the Biflores Association, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment and other volunteers," he said.
She stressed that the association always depends on the existence of financial and human resources and that, therefore, there are simply very few human resources in this area on the island, but she assured us that they should certainly have some within a year.
"We had a meeting with all the partners and what we talked about was keeping more or less this date, so May and in a year's time we could be back," he concluded.
