Brava: Periodic presentation of suspected high-risk drug trafficker
The Brava District Court today ordered the periodic presentation to the authorities of a 33-year-old man who was arrested on Thursday the 30th in Porto da Furna on suspicion of high-risk drug trafficking.
According to Inforpress, the suspect will have to report to the authorities every Monday and Friday, and is forbidden to leave the island and the country while investigations are underway.
The man was arrested by the National Police at the Port of Furna, during an operation to search passengers and vehicles. Inside the cargo car he was transporting, National Police officers found 83 doses of a substance presumed to be cocaine.
After the arrest, the suspect was brought before the court, which decided to apply the aforementioned measure of restraint.
The authorities have indicated that they are continuing to take steps to confirm the origin and destination of the drugs seized.
