Futsal core wants to keep the modality alive and hold the Brava Futsal Cup
Reinaldo Ramos, a core member of the futsal commission at Brava, said today that the team is determined to keep the sport alive, including plans to hold the Brava Futsal Cup later this year.
This official made these statements in an interview with Inforpress, when he was talking about the futsal tournament that is taking place in the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte, in honor of two young people who died recently and who had some passion for the sport.
According to Reinaldo Ramos, this tournament that started on Saturday, the 5th, with the participation of eight senior men's teams, four senior women's teams and four old glories men's teams, coming from almost all locations on the island, with the exception of Furna as it is taking place a tournament in the area, was organized more with a social aim to recognize the tribute that these two young people (Mike and Tchalé) had in sport in the parish.
However, it showed that several tournaments have been organized on Brava, but only during the festive season in some locations and during these tournaments, there has been a great commitment from young people and athletes who are dedicating themselves to this modality, although, reinforced that this modality is something practiced on a day-to-day basis, but people usually call it “dry” and it is practiced without complying with rules.
But, he highlighted that the core's objective is not to let this modality go back to rock bottom again, reinforcing that at this moment the focus is the participation of the women's team in the Inter-ilhas Futsal Feminino 2023 to be held on the island of Boa Vista, to later organize a Brava Futsal Cup later this year.
According to Reinaldo Ramos, after the return of the women's team, the Futsal commission and some mentors from the cup organization project intend to meet with the Municipality of Brava and other partners to see the intricacies for carrying out this activity.
Well, he stressed that with the holding of tournaments at local level, society has already realized that it is possible to have a larger project in this modality and to respond to demand, this Brava Futsal Cup would be ideal.
Asked about the difficulties, Reinaldo Ramos showed that there are several, as there are few institutions on the island that support initiatives of the type, but also another problem they face is on the part of the athletes, as there are a number of athletes, but the majority are athletes. of football 11.
On the issue of athletes, he considered that this is an embarrassment that they will face, justifying that next year, federated athletes in 11-a-side football cannot play at national level in futsal.
To overcome this situation, he informed that the futsal commission has been mobilizing athletes and warning them that only athletes who will commit to futsal in the future will participate in the tournament.
The same source says he is aware that organizing this cup will not be easy, but reinforces that with a 'djunta-mon' (unity) it is possible not only to organize it, but also to make futsal a modality that can come to walk with your own feet on the island and have athletes specifically for it.
In terms of futsal rules, Reinaldo Ramos praised the contribution of two of the military who were in Brava, national referees, stressing that they made "a great contribution", allowing local referees to gain more experience and even athletes have been trying to work on futsal issue of rules during tournaments held with visible improvements in 'fair play'.
The futsal commission was created in February 2019, with the aim of working towards the establishment of an association and the reactivation of the modality on the island.
