Ulisses promises to strengthen inter-island transport with two planes and a new boat
Comments Ulisses Correia e Silva, Cape Verde's Prime Minister, promised this Thursday, 31st, to strengthen inter-island transportation with two more ATR planes and a boat built from scratch, announcing the launch of an international tender to acquire the vessel.

Speaking at the close of the debate on the State of the Nation, in the National Assembly, Ulisses Correia e Silva, implied that the country is well served in terms of international transport.
"Cape Verde today has many solutions in terms of international transport links, air transport, linking various parts of the world, and cheaper, because of expansion," said Ulisses Correia e Silva.
PAICV is no alternative - says PM
With his sights set on the next legislative elections in 2026, the Chief Executive praised the gains made by his government and said that the PAICV is not the alternative to govern Cape Verde and that it is not prepared.
In his view, the largest opposition party has made an entire debate based on the 15 years of governance, which, according to the Prime Minister, left "economic growth of 1 percent (%) over 9 years, an unemployment rate of 15%, a youth unemployment rate of 41% and poverty of 31.5%".

However, he assured that the country's economy is growing with economic stability, benefiting people and reducing poverty.
He said that more companies in the country are creating jobs and increasing sales, which has contributed to the country's wealth.
High-middle income country
He also spoke of consistent and robust growth over time, which after the pandemic placed the archipelago in the position of an upper middle-income country.
"What we have done so far shows results and we will continue to do so that there are fewer difficulties in this country," concluded Ulisses Correia e Silva.
