The event will take place at Le Foyer Club, a well-known venue for the Cape Verdean community in the region, and its main aim is to mobilize financial support for artists from the island of Brava who will be present at a historic moment: the inauguration of the rebuilt Church of Our Lady of Monte.

According to information provided by the artist himself, this initiative is a way of uniting the Brava diaspora around culture and faith, while at the same time promoting the appreciation of local artists. The funds raised will be used to cover the travel and logistics costs of the musicians and other guest artists who will take part in the celebrations for the inauguration of the church, an important milestone for the people of Brava.

The reconstruction of the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte was supported by a majority of Cape Verdean emigrants living in the United States, demonstrating once again the strong link between the diaspora and their homeland. This collective effort has given the community back one of its most symbolic religious spaces, now renovated and ready to welcome worshippers and visitors alike.

The fundraising event promises an evening of great music, conviviality and solidarity, bringing together artists and members of the Cape Verdean community in and around Rhode Island. In addition to Alex Veiga, other names from the Bravense music scene are expected to take part, in an atmosphere that will celebrate the culture, identity and spirit of mutual help that characterizes the island's children.

The initiative is being seen as a gesture of great significance, not only for its direct support for the artists, but also for strengthening the cultural and community ties between the diaspora and the island of Brava, at a time when events of this nature play a crucial role in preserving traditions and promoting Cape Verdean culture across borders.
