Brava: Construction of the road linking Esparadinha to Palhal is progressing well according to ECV.
City of Nova Sintra, December 14, 2025 (Bravanews) - The Cape Verde Roads company announced that the earthworks for defining the grade of a new strategic road linking Esparadinha to Palhal are progressing at a "good pace". This phase is crucial, as it guarantees the quality and safety of the future road, according to the company's statement.
Currently, construction teams are focused on carrying out excavation and access work on the section connecting Esparadinha and Baía de Portete . According to the company, the work is being carried out in full compliance with the established work plan.
The new road provides a crucial alternative link to Fajã de Água , an area that has been frequently affected by rockslides , resulting in road closures and disruptions for residents and visitors.
Considered a strategic route for Brava Island, this project aims not only to solve road safety problems, but also to: expand the road network on the island, facilitate access to locations with high tourism potential , and boost local development and the economy of Brava .
The completion of this project is seen as an important step towards improving infrastructure and the safety and mobility of citizens on Brava Island.
