Brava: Biflores Association Reforestation Project with over four thousand plants introduced into the forests
Biflores Association technician Carlos Bango reported today that 14 hectares have already been worked on in this year's Reforestation Project and, to date, more than four thousand plants have been planted using an agroforestry methodology.

Speaking to Inforpress, Carlos Bango highlighted that the project is now in its third year, with restoration taking place in the high areas that were degraded, namely Fontainha, Cova Galinha and Mato, among others.
According to the same source, in the first year, 14 hectares of invasive species were removed and reforested, and in the second year, 19 hectares were worked.
"First, we combat the risks we encounter in forested areas, mainly invasive species and free grazing. Only then do we restore the forested area, which has enormous potential, by introducing endemic species. We're introducing the species that existed there, but also some new ones," he said.
Regarding invasive species, this technician highlighted that the team is very focused on Lantana Camara because, according to him, the forest area in Brava is about 60 percent (%) covered by this plant.
In this sense, he concluded by highlighting that the association developed a project with this species where they are using the plant to create various arts and furniture that are already being introduced into the market for consumption.
