In reaction to the club's statement, the president of the Brava Regional Football Association (ARFB), Samuel Varela, confirmed to Inforpress that he had received an official note from the management of Nô Pintxa informing him of their intention to abandon regional soccer competitions on the island.
However, Samuel Varela said that he had advised the team management to remain calm and not to act under the influence of the emotions of the moment.
According to the man in charge, "in the heat of the game and the result, emotions speak louder", but this cannot compromise all the effort made to hold the championship.
"The championship will continue and even more strongly, because the effort put into it was great. We hope that everything continues to run smoothly," he said.
According to the president of the ARFB, contact has already been made with the management of Nô Pintxa, who have in the meantime admitted that the team will return to training, with normality resuming as of today.
The situation also saw the intervention of the mayor of the island of Brava, who, as Samuel Varela revealed, held talks with the club's management, as well as the president of the association himself.
"Everything is fine at the moment", he assured.
Varela considered it a "hot-headed" decision, which could and should be re-evaluated, stressing that a disagreement with the referee does not justify abandoning the race.
However, several athletes and historical figures from Nô Pintxa have also intervened, dialoguing with the club's current president and demonstrating that this measure would not be the best solution.
"In good faith or bad, this small disagreement or discontent with the refereeing is not a reason for the board to abandon the regional championship, because the decision could bring more negative consequences, which is not good for the sport of Brava," he concluded.
