In a message sent to Bravanews, Andrade acknowledges that the moment is delicate, but stresses that "love for the island helps overcome the constraints", advocating a joint mobilization between the community, businesspeople and the government to reverse the current situation.

According to the businessman, tourism on Brava has faced a succession of difficulties in recent times. Among the main factors he points to is the withdrawal of the ship KRIOLA from the Port of Furna, a situation which, in his opinion, has aggravated the already fragile transportation system serving the island.

These challenges are compounded by infrastructures that are considered fragile, climate impacts affecting Brava and Fogo, cancellations of flights and sea connections, recent economic difficulties, problems with the supply of drinking water for residents and tourists and shortages of some basic foodstuffs.

For Andy Andrade, this set of factors has created an environment of uncertainty for tour operators and investors, with direct repercussions on local economic activity.

Despite the worrying scenario, the businessman is confident in the island's potential, highlighting the town of Nova Sintra as a destination with strong attributes for growth.

In his analysis, tourism can become one of the main forces for recovery and development, thanks to the combination of natural beauty, history and cultural heritage that characterizes Brava.

Andy Andrade advocates a set of structuring measures to relaunch the tourism sector and boost the local economy. Among the priorities pointed out are improvements to infrastructure, namely roads, energy and sanitation, strengthening the cultural and historical promotion of the island, support and tax incentives for local entrepreneurs, stressing that "everything is more expensive on the island of Brava", strengthening public-private partnerships, implementing a permanent transport solution, with short, medium and long-term responses and valuing sustainable tourism and betting on products with greater added value.

The businessman believes that these measures, if put together, could create a new cycle of growth for Bravense tourism.

In the final part of his message, Andy Andrade makes a clear appeal for collective mobilization, stating that love for the island remains a fundamental driving force.

For the emigrant, when the community and the government believe in Brava's potential, the territory gains more strength to face difficulties and move forward towards integrated and sustainable development.

The reflection comes at a time when various local players have been drawing attention to the urgent need for structural solutions, especially in the field of transport, which is considered vital for the island's economic future.
