THE DISPLEASURE OF TRAVELING INTERISLANDS

Traveling (when possible) between our islands has been a permanent ordeal. And it must have been such a beautiful and pleasant thing in Cape Verde, dear land!

Only those who do not submit to the common condition of traveling citizens are unaware of the successive constraints and annoyances in this chapter.

Is it possible or admissible such a lack of consideration and respect for passengers (including many children and elderly people...) who wait more than eight hours inside a maritime station without the minimum conditions?

So it was with the trip São Vicente / São Nicolau (22 Feb). This, scheduled for 4pm, was moved to 8pm and the time change was communicated hours before by SMS. Go there, go there! So far, so good (Operational or atmospheric unforeseen events happen)! But having to show up at the pier at 6 pm for the supposed boarding and the boat only left at 2:30 am, without any further information having been given until the time of departure, nor has anyone from the company appeared to explain or apologize the reason for the delay is, at the very least, disrespect, contempt, offense, disregard for users and citizens who see their lives and schedules totally impaired.

And let's not talk about the lack of organization: each one having to carry their suitcases and bags up the steep and slippery stairs (yes, the stairs) on the different floors of the boat to place them, each in their own way, as best they can!

Someone should be held responsible for this, which, unfortunately, is frequent and delays Cape Verde.

We are proud to host the Ocean Race and I don't know what else and we are not capable of solving something as basic, urgent and necessary as moving from one island to another?
