In Cape Verde, two new ATR-72-600 planes destined for the future company Linhas Aéreas de Cabo Verde (LACV) are currently in Toulouse, France, and are expected to arrive in the country in the coming weeks, as reported by the specialized agency AEROIN.

The first of the two ATRs is expected to land in Cape Verde as early as next week, according to the chairman of the board of the Civil Aviation Agency, Mário Margarito Gomes.

"The two ATR-72-600s are in Toulouse. One of the planes has already been registered here in Cape Verde and should arrive next week. They will be TACV aircraft under a dry lease. In this context, TACV will have greater control over the aircraft in terms of maintenance and operations. The aircraft will be entirely owned by TACV. The second will arrive shortly afterwards, also under the same arrangement, for national registration and for TACV," the official told RFI.

Currently, TACV Cabo Verde Airlines operates flights between the islands of São Vicente, Sal, Boa Vista, Fogo and Santiago using a 120-seat Boeing and a 78-seat Dash-400. The arrival of the new ATR-72-600s aims to strengthen the company's operational capacity and replace aircraft that are inactive.
