In an interview with the media, the head of government, who is visiting the island of Brava, pointed out that the Executive is investing around 266,000 escudos in the construction of this infrastructure, which is considered strategic for the development of the island.

"We're going to have a much safer, alternative road, which will also allow us to make this connection, creating a great development opportunity for Palhal, an area with high tourist potential, but which faces serious accessibility problems", he stressed.

According to Ulisses Correia e Silva, the government is strongly committed to this type of structuring investment, while recognizing the complexity of the work.

The Prime Minister also said that mobilizing heavy machinery to Brava is not always easy, but he assured that the work is scheduled to be finished in September, admitting that the deadline could be extended by another two to three months.

With regard to the road linking the town of Cachaço, the government official said that a technical visit would be made, adding that the date for the start of the work would depend on the Ministry of Infrastructure, while assuring that it was an investment already planned by the government.

The Prime Minister also stressed that these investments are part of a broader strategy to guarantee a daily and permanent connection between the islands of Fogo and Brava, with a view to creating a greater tourist flow and attracting new investments.

"This is the answer to transforming an island that is losing population into an island that will gain population. It's the economy that does that," he said, adding that creating jobs, income and money circulation are fundamental to keeping people, improving the quality of life and creating expectations for the future.

Ulisses Correia e Silva also concluded by saying that the government will continue to focus on professional qualifications, preparing young people for entrepreneurship and creating the conditions to attract investors.
