National Police start implementing operational plan for the festive season
The Brava National Police Station is carrying out several operations this month, and in a more intensified manner, to allow Brava residents to spend the festive season of the municipality and São João in tranquillity and with greater security.
The commander of the police station, Aldino Silva, assured Inforpress that the corporation is prepared, taking into account that the operation started on May 30, with the opening of the stalls and will end on July 6.
According to the deputy commissioner, the police station was recently reinforced with seven more officers, adding up to a total of 20 agents, and should also receive reinforcements from a contingent of ten agents from the island of Fogo.
The plan calls for reinforced patrols in areas with a high concentration of people, namely the street where the tents are located, as well as searches and raids to seize drugs and weapons.
"The National Police, in partnership with other institutions, will strictly control the entry of minors to nightclubs and events where alcoholic beverages are sold," he assured.
The commander also said that traffic enforcement is already underway, with alcohol tests and awareness-raising on safe and defensive driving, as well as the protection of authorities and individuals taking part in the festivities.
He said that since the beginning of the plan's implementation so far, the police unit has not recorded any serious incidents, but remains alert to ensure that all the activities of the traditional flag festivities and the day of the municipality take place.
Aldino Silva concluded by appealing to the population to cooperate with the authorities and adopt civic behavior so that, as in previous years, the festivities can take place in tranquility.
