Two young Cape Verdean executives among 100 African leaders at Choiseul Africa 2025

Since 2014, the list has brought together young executives, entrepreneurs and leaders from different countries and sectors, selected on the basis of different criteria, including their commitment to Africa's development.

Economist Jailson Teixeira and manager Nádia Teixeira are the two Cape Verdeans honored in the 2025 edition of the rankingChoiseul 100 Africa. The annual initiative recognizes the 100 African leaders under the age of 40 who stand out the most for playing or playing a key role in the economic development of the continent.

The current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cabo Verde Tradelnvest, Jailson Teixeira de Oliveira, comes 23rd in the ranking. Nádia Teixeira, one of the directors of Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde, is in 77th place.

Jailson Oliveira, 38, has already been chairman of the board of directors of Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde and was previously director of the Strategic Planning, Macroeconomic Monitoring and Statistics Service of the Cape Verde Ministry of Finance.

Nádia Teixeira, 36, has been the executive director of Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde since June 2024, having previously been a manager at the State Companies Supervision Unit, Ministry of Finance of Cabo Verde (2022-2024).

From the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP), there are also two young people: Cristina Lourenço, 34 years old and from Angola, who is Director-General of the Angola Securities Exchange, and Rui Mendes da Silva, 32 years old and from Guinea-Bissau, Co-founder & CEO of Kemet Automotive.

Published by the French institute Choiseul Africa, the list has been bringing together young executives, entrepreneurs and leaders from different countries and sectors for around 10 years, selected on the basis of various criteria such as professional trajectory, economic influence, potential for impact and commitment to Africa's sustainable development.

The award aims to highlight a generation of leaders who, through their work, are helping to transform the economic and social development of the continent.

It should be noted that Sandro de Brito, former director of Planning at the Ministry of Finance, and former CEO of ASA (Airports and Air Safety), appears in the 2019 edition of Choiseul 100 Africa.
