Government and local authority announce "new start" for the development of Brava
On Monday in Brava, Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva advocated "working hand in hand" between the public and private sectors to boost the island's structural development and "new start".
At a meeting that brought together residents, economic operators and the local authority, the chief executive, who has been on the island since Saturday, accompanied by a government delegation, stressed the importance of resilience and cooperation between central and local power to overcome problems "inherited from the past".
Ulisses Correia e Silva assured that the government is committed to building a future that strengthens the pride of Bravenses, both residents and those in the diaspora, through commitments that focus on the "real problems" affecting the island.
"The development of Brava requires entrepreneurs, the private sector and the public sector to work hand in hand," said the Prime Minister, assuring that residents can count on a strong partnership between institutions to modernize the island.
Representing the economic operators, Daniel Tavares described the meeting as "extremely important", highlighting the opportunity to present the sector's difficulties and discontents directly to the ministers present.
"Issues from various sectors were discussed and we had the opportunity to air our problems and grievances, bearing in mind that the island needs a helping hand from the government," he said.
The spokesman expressed his confidence in the seriousness of the current executive, calling for a "helping hand" from the state to fulfill the commitments made and guarantee the sustainable development of the island of Brava.
The Prime Minister ends his four-day official visit to Brava this Tuesday, marked by the signing of protocols and the supervision of structural works for the island's development.
The trip, which began on Saturday, included an intense agenda of direct contacts with the population and economic and cultural agents, aimed at strengthening the central executive's proximity to the local dynamics of the municipality.
In addition to the institutional aspect, with the signing of program-contracts with the municipality, the visit served as an opportunity for the head of government to monitor the progress of infrastructures considered vital for the economy and quality of life in Brava.
