According to the MpD-USA, the accusations being spread do not correspond to the truth and constitute a clear exercise in disinformation, marked by ignorance of the legal and administrative procedures in force. For the Political Commission, these allegations are motivated by political expediency and aimed at obtaining party dividends, contributing to the division of the Cape Verdean community in the diaspora and the erosion of trust in public institutions.

In the statement, the MpD-USA clarifies that the events in the state of Rhode Island were limited exclusively to providing civic information to the Cape Verdean community. The purpose of this action was to inform citizens that, for the purposes of future voter registration processes, it is necessary to have valid identification documents from Cape Verde, namely the National Identification Card (CNI) and the passport, which can be requested through the Consular Portal, a public, official platform accessible to any citizen.

The Political Commission also stresses that there are volunteers within Cape Verdean community associations who provide support to citizens, especially those with lower digital literacy, helping them navigate the Consular Portal to submit requests for documents. The MpD-USA emphasizes that this practice is civic, transparent and widely adopted by various diaspora associations. It has no political connotations, does not involve access to internal state systems and is not related to voter registration processes.

With regard to voter registration, the MpD-USA clarifies that it has not started in a comprehensive manner. Currently, voter registration can only be done at the Cape Verde Consulate in Boston, and there is no itinerant or parallel operation underway. The party emphasizes that using the Consular Portal to apply for identification documents does not constitute, and cannot be confused with, voter registration.

The communiqué is equally categorical in stating that none of the citizens targeted in the accusations have, or have ever had, privileged access to internal state systems, or work at the Consulate, the Cape Verde Embassy in the United States or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thus, according to the MpD-USA, there is no factual or legal possibility of manipulating data, improperly issuing documents or favoring third parties.

The Political Commission of the MpD-USA strongly disapproves of the dissemination of false messages that distort facts, fuel unfounded suspicions and seek to instrumentalize public services for political confrontation. For the party, such practices do not dignify democratic debate and only harm the cohesion of the Cape Verdean community living in the United States.

Finally, the MpD-USA reaffirms its commitment to legality, the neutrality of state institutions, democratic ethics and absolute respect for electoral rules. The party defends an elevated, responsible political debate based on the truth of the facts, always placing the interests of the community and the country above any partisan calculation.

At the end of the statement, the Political Commission calls for serenity, critical thinking and recourse to official sources, reiterating that truth, transparency and service to the community must prevail over disinformation and political opportunism.
