Silva spared no criticism of CVInterilhas, calling its management "disastrous" and accusing it of "pummeling" the island and "relegating it to an unacceptable state of abandonment". He rejected the company's propaganda that promises to "ensure connectivity at a time of celebration (Nhô San Djon Flag 2025)", considering it "empty rhetoric" and an "insult to the intelligence" of the Bravenses, who in reality face "chronic isolation and constant instability in maritime transport".

The Municipal Deputy emphasized that the "unfulfilled promises" by CVInterilhas had turned the connection between Brava and the other islands into a "daily ordeal". He listed the lack of regularity, the precariousness of the services and the constant postponements and cancellations as factors that have "stifled the economy, limited development and, above all, put the lives and well-being" of the population of Brava at risk. "We are tired of being the forgotten island, the island that is only used for pretty speeches at campaign time," said Silva.

João Paulo Silva made a direct appeal to Brava's leaders and active voices, asking: "Where are our leaders? Where are the active voices of the Brava who should defend the interests of our people as vehemently as they defend their own?". He demanded that they take responsibility and act decisively to solve the chronic problem of maritime transport. "We don't want any more palliatives, we don't want any more patches. We want a definitive and dignified solution for maritime transport on the Brava," he declared.

The passivity of the political class in the face of the island's suffering was classified by Silva as "unacceptable" and "a crime". He stressed that Brava cannot continue to be held hostage by a transportation policy that condemns it to isolation.

Faced with what he described as a scenario of "abandonment and inertia" and "because he can no longer stand so much silence", João Paulo Silva made official his intention to run for National Deputy. "It's time to give a voice to those who have been silenced, to fight for a more connected, more developed and dignified Brava. Our island deserves more and I will be on the front line to defend its interests. We're tired of waiting; it's time to act!" he concluded.

The candidacy of João Paulo Silva promises to bring the issue of maritime transport and the development of Brava to the center of the political debate in the next elections.
